Building something from scratch, be it a recipe, a relationship, or a company… is A LOT of work…
Ok… recipe may be a little extreme…
But when I set out to begin my entrepreneurial journey… I never thought it would feel so lonely…
And the crazy thing about that statement is the fact that it’s not like I don’t have friends or family that I talk to… because I do…
But I have yet to really find my “tribe” who understands all the nuances that accompany trying to grow a company and a brand, while still investing in your creative endeavors that are not financially lucrative…
The podcast community was such a blessing to me as I began that journey over two years ago…
And I honestly don’t think I would have continued that journey had I not began networking with like-minded people…
Because my friends and family weren’t very outwardly supportive in the beginning…
And the support I have received from the podcast community was desperately needed and has been very appreciated…
But I have yet to really find that tribe in the entrepreneur community…
I also envy my Facebook friends whose Facebook friends so willingly share their posts about their creative endeavors or entrepreneurship posts…
I don’t think people understand how helpful a “like” or “share” can be when someone posts content when they are building something from scratch… (keep that in mind as a free way to support your own entrepreneur friends…)
But the lack of support won’t stop me from grinding…
And I have tried to be even more intentional about interacting with my entrepreneur Facebook friend’s content…
And I have created a space that will hopefully help other entrepreneurs feel supported and less lonely on their journey…
Sometimes you simply have to be the change that you wish to see…
